IBRAGIMOV, Shamil Shamilyevich [15.7.1922, PGT Chishmу of Ufimsky Сanton of the BASSR (Chishminsky Raion of the RB) — 20.4.1993, Ufa], Choral Conductor, Composer. Merited Artist of the BASSR (1972). Participant in the Great Patriotic War. After graduating from the Bashk. Studio at Moscow Conservatory (1952) until 1960, he worked as Artistic Managing Dir. of the Chorus of the Committee of Radio Broadcasting and TV at the Council of Ministers of the BASSR, simultaneously until 1958 — at Bashk. Philharmonia, until 1968 — a Teacher at Ufa School of Arts. He was one of the originators of choral music in Bashkortostan. The author of over 50 vocal choral works, including cantatas Long live, Bashkiria, We Defended the World—Now We’ll Defend Peace, choral poems Poem About a Soldier, My Native Land, choral miniatures Dilya, My Ural, etc, adaptations of Bashk. folk songs that also include the author’s musical text.
