MANNANOV, Irek Nagimovich (b.15.8.1970, Belebey), Athlete. Merited Master of Sports (cross‑country skiing, 2002; biathlon, 2006) of Russia. Distinguished Athlete of the RB (1998). Awarded with the Order of Honour (1998), Order of Friendship (2005), Order for Merits to the Republic of Bashkortostan (2006), Order of Peoples’ Friendship (2002). A trainee of the Youth Sports School (Belebey, Coach – N.I.Savelyev), the Sports Skills Development School of the RB (Ufa; Coaches: A.A.Gumerov, S.R.Gumerov). Champion of the 10 km Race Paralympic Games (1998) and relay (1998, 2002), Silver Medalist of the 5 and 20 km Races Paralympic Games (1998), 5 and 10 km race (2002), in the relay (2006). The World Champion (2003, 2005), Silver (3‑times, 2000; 2003, 2005) and Bronze (2‑times, 2003; 2005) Medalist of the CrossCountry Skiing World Championships. The sprint Champion and Silver Medalist in the 12.5 km Paralympic race (2006), the World Champion in the 12.5 km blind biathlon race (2009). Member of the Russian National Team (1997–2010).
