HELICOPTER

HELICOPTER, an aerial vehicle with one or several rotors creating thrust and lift force. Since the mid­1950s, in Bashkortostan, the UMPO plant has manufactured swash plates, fans with drive shafts and main rotor brakes for Mi­1, Mi­6 and Mi­26, and main rotor masts for Ka­27, Ka­29 and Ka­32. Since the late 1970s, the Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise has manufactured helicopter models Ka­27PL (anti­submarine), Ka­27PS (search & rescue), Ka­28 (version of Ka­27PL), Ka­29 (transp. and combat), Ka­31 (radar surveillance), Ka­32S (sea­ based), Ka­32T (transp.), Ka­32A (transp. multi­purpose), Ka­32A4 (transp. and medical), since 2005 — also light multi­ purpose helicopters Ka­226.
