KOVSHOVA, Natalya Venediktovna (26.11.1920, Ufa — 14.8.1942, near Derevnya Sutoki‑Byakovo of Leningrad Obl., buried in Derevnya Korovitchino of Novgorod Obl.), Hero of the Soviet Union (1943). Participant of the Great Patriotic War. Awarded with the Order of Lenin (1943), Order of the Red Star (1942). Graduated from the Sniper School (January, 1942). The rank of Hero Sniper of 528th shooter regiment Private K. was awarded posthumously for courage shown in the battle on August 14th near Derevnya Sutoki‑Byakovo. A streets in Moscow and Ufa, and a liner are named after K. There is her monument installed in Chelyabinsk.
